The Lakeside School Middle School is getting ready for their trip to Washington,DC and the historic triangle...Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown. Our 31 students and 3 teachers are busy packing, going over procedures and details, and getting very excited about seeing our nation's capital! I will be taking pictures daily and posting each night, or more often if possible, and allowing students to add some info to our blog each night. When we return, I will purchase the PDF file and will be able to make copies for the students!

As a teacher, I am honored that you are entrusting your most prized possession(s) with me. I care about each one of them and am looking forward to spending the next week with them! It will be a time of growth for your student(s) and will return them to you with a new perspective on our country and its amazing history. Please encourage them to open their eyes and hearts to the unique sites they are going to see and visit and to help each other through the week as we become a closer family of Lakeside Chiefs!

  1. Sounds like a great trip!
One suggestion in DC, in case you need to find some air conditioning, is to take a 10 minute stroll through the Library of Congress (next to the Supreme Court). Unbelievably beautiful and ornate inside plus it has one of only 3 perfect Gutenberg Bibles - printed in 1455.
Also, the National Archives are interesting, but the lines were hours long to enter.
    Enjoy!
